Joseph P. McGlon is an intuitive artist who works in pastels. His pastel paintings have been influenced by the 19th Century Art Movement, known as Impressionism. His depiction of light, thin, small and broad pastel strokes can be seen in his pastel paintings. His use of gradation in his bold colors evokes emotions, rhythm and enhances meaning.
Joseph is originally from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and currently lives in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kansas and BA Degree from Langston University, Langston Oklahoma. He credits his experience in counseling Veterans with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, as the driven force that lead to the development of his artistic discovery and journey.
