Joseph P. McGlon III is an intuitive artist who works in pastel and oil paint. His paintings have been influenced by the late Horace Pippin, a self-taught African-American painter and the 19th Century Art Movement, known as Impressionism. His depiction of light, thin, small and broad strokes can be seen in his paintings. His use of gradation in his bold colors evokes emotions, rhythm and enhances a meaning.
Joseph currently lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Kansas and a BA Degree from Langston University, Langston Oklahoma. He credits his experience in counseling Veterans with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, as the driven force that lead to the development of his artistic discovery and journey.
